Procurement Technician – Library of Congress
Position Overview
This position is located in the Contracts and Grants Directorate within the Chief Operating Officer’s office at the Library of Congress. This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position.

Salary Range: $45,146 – $58,686 per year
Who Can Apply

Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain work logs, track assignments, and keep the supervisor informed to ensure timely actions.
- Provide customer support by responding to program-related information requests.
- Independently gather data, prepare reports, and make recommendations to supervisors.
- Integrate several software types (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, word processing) to generate reports and documents.
- Track contract and order statuses through the Library’s financial system, including maintaining paper files and contact with staff and contractors.
- Assemble contract files, verify administrative information, and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, contracts, and other procurement documentation.
- Review contract files for required documents and clauses.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Library procedures during procurement processes.
Requirements
Applicants must have progressively responsible experience and training in the following areas:
- Ability to provide procurement and contract administration support.
- Ability to offer office systems support (e.g., software and database management).
- Organizational skills to plan and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with others.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
